I guess by now that you know encaustic is the use of wax colours which are at some stage during the process of creating the image, in a molten state. Here are some images.

Landscape (Ceibwr bay)

Landscape speaks for itself and is one of the easiest subjects to approach. There are so many forms within landscape that the potentials for exploration are endless. This one is a seascape close to where I live. It was painted for the introductory sequence of the original video - Simple to start... in 1991 from a photograph of the location.

Mystical Images
Abstract images

Abstract is one of the forms that I love the most. It talks without defining pictorially.

The shapes and colours, forms and blends, express without the distraction of familiar objects and without the need to carefully and realistically portray the recognizable.

If I could only paint one form it would be abstract.

Mystical creation is one of the most interesting aspects of working with molten wax, which it must be said, has an alchemic quality about it at any time.

When I can get my ego out of the way, the I am often surprised and pleased with what comes out during a session of open minded creativity - I call it “...the work”

Fantasy Images

Fantasy imagery is fun & exciting because the limits of reality are lifted somewhat.

Often landscape structures remain, but colours & forms can embrace other realms.
